Mr. Sandman, Bring Me a Dream
Updated: Nov 20, 2019
It has officially been a week since my "Trial in Accountability" post. So I'm back with an update.
I am on my way out of my rut. Almost every day I've eaten enough, I am on track with my reading of The War of Art, and I've exercised every day.
The thing that I still haven't gotten down is my sleep schedule, which undoubtedly is the biggest contributor in my rut. Some days were better than others, however there is still no semblance of success.
Chuck Grimmett said that when forming a routine one of the biggest mistakes is trying to cram in too many things, so then the whole thing falls apart. I'm 100% guilty of this. I think of all the things I would like to do before bed, can't accomplish them, and I just leave my insomnia ridden body confused. If you want to add more, you have to gradually add them in. Start with 2-3 things you want in your routine.
The routine I'm building now is as follows:
Putting all technology away 30 minutes before I get in bed
Making a cup of tea
Most evenings I'll read, but I haven't made it a part of my routine because I don't want to layer on too much before it can start working.
So far I'm happy with the progress I've made, but I'm still working on the main culprit.
